Tech stack in this project

  • Power BIInteractive career map (Sankey) and skill-match dashboard prototype
  • FigmaHigh-fidelity prototype: login, questionnaire, homepage, career dashboard
  • MiroEmpathy maps and research synthesis
  • Human-centred design
  • Agile Scrum
  • User acceptance testing
  • Cost-benefit analysis

Why it matters for supply chain

  • Profile matching = supplier and carrier selection by fit
  • UAT and go-live planning = ERP and WMS implementation
  • Stakeholder research = requirements before any system change

Problem

Many UNSW students are unsure which careers suit them, and career guidance is spread across separate platforms.

Approach

  1. Researched the problem with surveys, one-on-one interviews, personas, empathy maps and a 5 Whys root cause analysis.
  2. Designed InspirEd Careers: a unified dashboard that combines course history, course performance and skills to recommend careers.
  3. Proposed a matching approach: course history as WAM vectors, skills extracted from course descriptions, content-based and collaborative filtering, cosine similarity.
  4. Prototyped the career map and skill match in Power BI and the user flow in Figma.
  5. As Systems Test Analyst, worked on user acceptance testing: test cases for data validation and algorithm logic, and validation with alumni and students.
  6. Pitched at the INFS3605 Innovation and Transformation Showcase; team InspirEd received the Bronze Award.
